Antonio Sammartano è un artista interdisciplinare, impegnato di volta in volta in pittura, installazioni e fotografia. Le opere fotografiche mostrano la figura umana annullata rispetto all’ambiente circostante.La pittura invece è una disciplina che non può essere fissata in un momento della sua realizzazione e il cui movimento non vuole essere nascosto ma piuttosto espresso nella forma, nel soggetto e col colore. Sammartano vuole che l’osservatore segua la dinamica della sua creazione attraverso un sottile gioco di segni e velature. Sammartano ha partecipato a numerose mostre in diversi paesi. Tra le più importanti si ricordano Germination9 ( Biennale Europea a Praga, Nizza e Lussemburgo) Premio USB (Unione Banche Svizzere a Londra) , Premio Michetti e Gemine Muse in Italia.
Sammartano is an interdisciplinary artist, engaged from time to time in painting, installation and photography. The photographic works show the human figure set in the space in which he interacts, only that there is not really, or rather, only its cropped, white shape is present against color or black and white. Compared to photography, painting is a discipline that can not be fixed in a moment in its realization, and whose movement does not want to be hidden but rather expressed in form, in the subject and with color. Sammartano wants the observer to follow the trail of an implementation path, covering the canvas spatially and temporally, leaving the geometries or paths generated by the brush unbroken. Color is always in transformation as following the thoughts that the observer is invited to continue in a personal inner genesis.
